Tech Index publishes technical tutorials and error documentation for educational purposes. Please take a few minutes to read this before relying on anything here.

Educational Purpose

Our tutorials are tested before publication, but a few things are always outside our control.

Your environment may differ from the one we tested on. Operating system versions, hardware configurations, and installed software all affect how things behave. Technology also moves fast, and a software update can change the correct approach after a tutorial is already published.

Before making system changes or running commands from any online source, back up anything important. That applies here too.

Accuracy and Testing

We test tutorials across multiple platforms before publishing, verify solutions against real error scenarios, include version numbers where they matter, and update content when significant software changes make it necessary.

That said, we cannot guarantee every solution will work identically on every system, that our content is completely free of errors despite our testing, or that the results will match your specific situation without any adjustment. Treat our tutorials as a solid starting point, not a guaranteed outcome.

Not Professional Advice

Our content is not a substitute for professional IT consultation on business systems, qualified support for critical infrastructure, legal advice on software licensing or compliance, or security consultation for sensitive environments. If you are working on production systems or anything critical, bring in a qualified professional.

We link to official documentation, GitHub repositories, and other technical resources. We do not control those external sites and cannot guarantee their availability, the accuracy of their content, or their privacy practices.

Liability

Use our content at your own risk. We are not responsible for system damage, data loss, time spent troubleshooting, or any other direct or indirect damages resulting from following our tutorials. This applies even if we were made aware of the possibility of such damages.

Software and Tools

When we recommend software, tools, or services, we have no affiliation with them unless we say otherwise. Recommendations reflect our own testing experience. Tools and licensing terms can change after we publish, so always review them yourself before committing to anything.
